NIGERIA VS ICELAND: FIVE LESSONS ON RELATIONSHIPS FROM THE MATCH

What a wonderful display of professionalism from the Nigerian players as they defeated their opponents, Iceland, two goals to nil! Ahmed Musa deserves accolades for pulling the brace that got us the much needed win. There is a lot I learnt from that match relating to relationships which we can all apply.

1. Never be afraid to try new things:
Nigeria’s formation in the first match of this world cup was 4-5-1 but was changed to 3-5-2 in the second. A switch was necessary and apparently, the second formation served us well. It is a common  saying that only a fool that keeps doing the same thing the same way and expects different results. Your previous relationships (if you have had any) failed for a certain reason. Don’t repeat the same mistakes.

2. Seek knowledge from experienced people:
Ahmed Musa and Omeruo with some other players have prior world Cup experience which they applied to contribute to the win. They (especially the former) contributed greatly to our success in the match. So, in relationship, it is important to seek knowledge from people with experience. This experience can be gotten through different means like reading books, listening to audio tapes, attending relationship seminars, seeking parental advice, etc. Even if you've never been in a relationship, the knowledge gained from the experience of other people will help you greatly.

3. Never lose hope: Despite the result previous match, which they lost, the Nigerian team were in high spirits, seeking a better result. That your failed relationship isn’t the end of the road for you; there is a relationship waiting that you'd be proud of. So don’t give up, you can still get it right next time.

4. Put yourself to work: Nigerian players just didn’t hope for a win but they worked hard for it. You need to work for your relationship to work. Create time to build your relationship and be faithful in your own part. All these are also part of work.

5. Have good team spirit: Always be ready to work as a team. The Nigerian team couldn’t have been effective if each memeber cared only about the bonus attached to scoring a goal. Relationship is like joining two different bodies. The people involved love each other but there is need for cooperation. Be ready to understand each other.
Remember that Together We Can Achieve More Miracles.

I hope that with this a soul is lifted not to give  up in the area of relationships. Having a relationship of your dreams is possible. Don’t doubt it.
Don’t change the Goal but change the Plan.
